School workshops

Bring the vibrant sounds, colours, and traditions of South America into your classroom with Masikuna’s interactive cultural music workshops.

Designed for all age groups, our sessions combine live music, storytelling, and hands-on participation to create an engaging and educational experience that inspires curiosity and cultural understanding.

Students are introduced to traditional Andean instruments such as the charango, zamponas (pan pipes), quena, bombo drums, guitar, and percussion. They learn about their cultural origins, how they are made, and their role in South American communities, while also experiencing them live in performance.

Each workshop is highly interactive, encouraging students to sing, clap, dance, and play instruments alongside the performers. The sessions support key curriculum areas including Music, Geography, History, Indigenous Studies, Languages, and Cultural Diversity.

At the end of the workshop, students receive take-home educational materials including cultural facts, images, and creative instrument-making activities. Our programs are tailored to different age groups and refined through years of experience across schools and community events throughout Australia.

Please see our tailor-made lesson plan below.
